Questions

Can a chiropractor help with sports injuries?

Yes. Chiropractic care may help assess and manage certain musculoskeletal conditions associated with sports and physical activity. At Smile Chiropractic in Auckland, Dr. William considers your symptoms, movement and functional needs to develop an individualised approach, which may include appropriate chiropractic care and rehabilitation exercises. With a background in strength and conditioning, he uses rehabilitation exercise to support a gradual, confident return to training and sport. Results vary between individuals, and we refer you for further assessment when needed.

Can a chiropractor help with lower back or neck pain?

Chiropractic care may help some people manage musculoskeletal back and neck pain. Dr. William assesses your symptoms, posture and movement, and combines hands-on care with exercises you can continue at home. Results vary, and we refer you for further assessment when needed.

What is the difference between chiropractic care and sports rehabilitation?

Chiropractic care may involve hands-on treatment and assessment of musculoskeletal function. Sports rehabilitation focuses on restoring movement, strength, stability and functional capacity through appropriate exercises and progressive activity. Depending on your needs, Dr. William may combine both approaches in your care.

Do I need a GP referral for an injury?

No. We are ACC registered, so you can book directly after an injury without a GP referral.

How many chiropractic sessions will I need?

This depends on your condition, goals, recovery and response to care. After an initial assessment, we can discuss suitable treatment options and whether a rehabilitation plan or further referral is appropriate.
