Partner workshops
Antenatal partner workshops in Auckland: practical skills to support your partner through pregnancy, labour, breastfeeding and the early weeks with your baby.
Dear dad-to-be
Over the years, I have met many mothers working through pregnancy discomfort, labour preparation, postpartum recovery and breastfeeding challenges. I often wished someone could have helped them sooner, especially in difficult moments when immediate support wasn't available.
So I began to ask: what if the person beside Mum already knew how to help? What if Dad knew how to provide appropriate massage during pregnancy and labour, help Mum find a more comfortable feeding position, support her recovery at home, and recognise when something needs professional attention?
Many partners want to help. They simply haven't had the chance to learn how. That is why I created these workshops.
As a chiropractor with a particular interest in pregnancy, postpartum recovery and breastfeeding support, I want to give families practical knowledge they can use every day, and the confidence to recognise when they need a midwife, lactation professional, GP or other health provider.
Supporting Mum isn't about having every answer. It's about knowing what you can do, when to seek help and how to be there when she needs you most.

Knowing when to seek professional help
Every part of the workshop includes guidance on recognising when professional support or medical assessment may be needed. We cover:
- What you can safely do at home
- When to stop an activity or technique
- Warning signs and symptoms that should not be ignored
- When to contact your midwife, GP or another healthcare professional
- When urgent medical attention is needed
Learn what you can do to support each other, and when it's important to seek the right professional help.
Fundal massage and other clinical postpartum techniques are explained for understanding only, including when they should not be attempted at home.
More than massage
The workshops help partners build practical skills, confidence and a better understanding of the physical and emotional changes during pregnancy and after birth. You don't need to solve every problem yourself, and you don't need to do it alone.
Certificate of completion
Each couple receives a certificate of completion, a record of the time you spent preparing for your baby together. It recognises participation in an educational workshop and is not a healthcare qualification.
